The super soft kids' 2-piece Deluxe Merino Rib Pyjamas are a cosy option for winter sleep. Our much-loved 100% merino long-sleeved pyjamas have a wide cuff on the arm and legs, plus an elasticated waist for a snug fit. Made using a lovely soft ribbed merino, they have good stretch, making them super comfy for wriggly sleepers. The fabric stretch and crew neck makes the PJ's easy to get on and off. Made from 220gsm, Woolmark Extra Fine merino they're cosy and warm. These long-sleeved pyjamas can be layered under one of our Sleep Store sleeping bags for younger toddlers or used in combination with The Sleep Store Wool Duvet's for older kids. If it's extra cool add one of our deluxe merino bodysuits or singlets for an extra layer across the chest. Our customers love how soft and snuggly these pyjama's are.

Lots of merino is very pricey or it's not great quality, so we've developed our range of unisex merino, made from a snug 220gm ribbed 100% merino fabric which has been knitted just for us! We've made the top longer than normal to keep little tummies and backs warm and the pants are super comfy with a handy elastic waist.

About our sizing

Please note: Season 2024 sizes have been updated in the chest, length and sleeve from previous batches.

Our own brand garments follow the Australasian standard AS1182-1997 for sizing and are made with room to grow. Our Size 2 clothing for example is made to fit the standard’s average sized 2.5 year old comfortably.

Tips on how to measure your child

Chest - Place tape measure under the arms and measure around the chest at the fullest part until your fingers meet.

Arm - With arms down by the side and relaxed, measure from the wrist to the top of the arm before the shoulder curve. If you are unsure where the true shoulder curve starts, then gently place your flat hand (or another flat item like a ruler) on the shoulder and measure up to this point.

Waist - Measure around the natural waist bringing the tape measure round until your fingers meet. Young children often don’t have defined waists so if you are unsure how to locate this, get your child to bend to one side to find the natural crease of the waistline. Be careful not to squeeze the tape too tight and allow a little give when measuring.
Inside leg - With a flat foot, measure from the heel of the foot, up the inside of the leg to the crotch. Inside leg may sometimes be referred to as the inseam.

Please note - Measurements are taken when garments are laid flat. Areas such as chest, waist and hips are calculated at twice the width to get the full measurement.

Materials

Merino sleeping bags, bedding, swaddles and clothing are easy to care for when following the correct guidelines. Please see our care instructions included with your garment.

Care for your merino

As with many wool garments, you may experience a bit of pilling on this garment. Please note this is often due to a soft fibre such as merino rubbing against other fabrics, such as flannelette sheets. We consider pilling a normal part of wear and tear on a soft merino garment. We could have treated the fabric much more to reduce pilling but then it would lose its lovely, snuggly softness.

Please take care with moths

Protect your Merino from small holes created by insects such as moths and silverfish. Ensure your garments are clean before storing. Lavender and Cedar wood are noxious to these pests so storing your garments with these scents or a moth trap will help protect your knitwear further.

What are the major differences between The Sleep Store Merino garments?

Jersey Merino

The jersey merino is super smooth and soft, feels like high quality t-shirt fabric and has a comfortable stretch to it - not as much as the deluxe merino rib. Great for all year round and is the lightest of the three types at 200gsm. Good for summer babies.

Deluxe Merino Rib

This is a rib knit merino meaning it's structure is made up of rows of stitching. This gives this merino a really beautiful stretch with cross grain elasticity. It is so soft and great for all year round at 220gsm.

Deluxe Merino Fleece

The most fluffy fleecy softness on the inside, with a sweatshirt look on the outside, and most definitely the warmest of them all at 360gsm.

All items on our website are in stock, ready to dispatch (excludes pre-order or custom size items). Please allow 3-5 working days for main centres, 5 working days for outside of main centres and up to 10 working days for heavy or bulky orders.

Shipping starts from $8 for small items. Just add your items to your cart and use the Shipping Estimator in the Mini Cart or Cart with your post code. Please double check your shipping in the checkout, particularly for large items which the estimator doesn’t accurately calculate.

The majority of packages are shipped with Toll Priority. Bulky or heavy items will generally be shipped with Omni/Australia Post.

Packages are labelled with an Authority to Leave if they are less than $300 value so delivery doesn’t require you to be home. Please let us know if you need Signature Required for security concerns. PO Box or Parcel Locker orders are sent with Omni/Aus Post.
