Our Duvet sleeping bag is one of the warmest and snuggliest winter sleeping bags available! It’s the only bag in world which uses a quilted wool filling for additional warmth and temperature regulation, as most winter bags are filled with a synthetic polyester or cotton wadding.
It can be used from approximately 14 to 22 degrees by varying the clothing inside the bag. Ideal from autumn through till spring, and cooler nights in summer.
The outside layer is gorgeous 30% merino/70% soft cotton blend fabric. This beautifully soft fabric is knitted specially for woolbabe!
The bag is filled with a snug layer of 100% Australian wool filling, which gives amazing warmth and temperature regulating properties. It has the feel of a duvet or thick blanket, and many babies seem to sleep much better in this heavier feeling of wool. The weight of the filling also means less wriggling for a lot of children.
The duvet woolbabe is lined with a lovely 100% cotton lining, which is soft and smooth against your baby’s skin.
The combination of wool and cotton offers the best of both worlds, providing a light cover for your child in warmer conditions. These conditions are often more difficult to gauge what your child should sleep in. The wool component still provides the qualities which react to changes in body temperatures, keeping baby at a constant body temperature, which encourages everyone to have a good nights sleep.
This was was previously called the woolbabe ’winter’ bag, so this may still be on some swing tags and labels.

Should I buy a front or side zip woolbabe?
The main considerations are how wriggly your child is and how often you will use the travel slot. If your child is very wriggly or likes to stand up in the cot we recommend a front-zip bag, as they may otherwise pop open the shoulder domes on a side zip bag.
The travel slot in the front-zip bag is only in the back, which means that little feet are unlikely to go through the slot which can happen with a side-zip bag. However if you use the travel slot often you may prefer the slot in the front and back.
One other advantage of the side-zip woolbabe is that it opens out completely flat. This can make nappy changing a bit easier.
Woolbabe sleeping bags can be gentle machine washed with a liquid woolwash. You can also low tumble dry your bag but please be aware some shrinkage may occur with tumble drying.

My 8 month old was waking frequently during the night prior to me purchasing this product. She had moved on from her safe t sleep due to her reaching the crawling milestone, so the blankets were always being kicked off and she was rolling over and crawling in her cot which was a big sleep distraction. The Woolbabe, solved the problem of cold from no blankets and made crawling much harder and she has just tended to resort to sleeping on her side and any movement is much more limited. The side zip is also better for her as it makes night nappy changing really quick.

I have tried 3 different brands of sleeping bags and these are by far the best. They are worth every cent more than other brands. The wool is delightful- soft and not itchy and so snuggly warm. We also have a 3 season which we use in cooler weather. Our house gets down to 16 degrees in Winter but this bag keeps him snug and warm. They also wear really well compared to other brands- don't ball and easy to wash and keep clean.
