The Sleep Store Merino Knitwear Kimono Cardigan is an adorable layer for your bub. A beautiful first layer this cardigan is thoughtfully designed for comfort, warmth, and easy dressing. Crafted from 100% merino wool, it is soft, breathable, and naturally temperature regulating – perfect for keeping babies cosy through the cooler months without overheating.

Made in a smooth single jersey stitch, this knit has a clean, classic finish that feels gentle against delicate skin. Merino wool is ideal for layering, helping to keep little bodies warm while still allowing airflow, making it a reliable choice for both indoors and out.

The kimono-style wrap design makes dressing especially easy for newborns and young babies. Rather than pulling garments over the head, the cardigan wraps comfortably across the body and fastens at the side. Baby sizes feature a two-button side closure for a secure and snug fit, while size 1 includes three buttons for added coverage and adjustability as your child grows.

Available in sizing from preemie to 1 year and designed in timeless, gender-neutral colours, this cardigan pairs beautifully with bodysuits, singlets, leggings, or layered over sleepwear. It’s a versatile piece that works just as well for everyday wear as it does for special outings.

100% Merino Wool — Woolmark Pure Merino Wool, 21 microns

Care:

Machine washable — wash inside out in a laundry bag
Wash with similar colours using an approved wool detergent
Gentle cold or 30°C machine wash on a wool or delicate cycle
Do not high spin, soak, bleach, or use softeners
Dry flat in shade — avoid direct sunlight and do not hang dry (can cause garment to lose shape)
Do not tumble dry or dry clean
Cool iron on reverse — gently reshape by hand if needed
Pilling is normal with soft wool fibres rubbing against other fabrics such as flannelette — this is considered normal wear and tear
Protect from moths and silverfish — ensure garments are clean before storing with lavender or cedar wood to deter moths and silverfish
